Policy LINK has submitted a desk review of Ghana's policy processes, providing USAID, local policymakers, and other key stakeholders with key insights on policy gaps and constraints. The study employs USAID’s Institutional Architecture (IA) for Food Security framework, which assesses multi-stakeholder and multi-sectoral processes, relationships, and functional structures, gauging how well they contribute to positive food systems policy change.

The review comes as Policy LINK kicks off a new buy-in in Ghana, where the global program aims to support the transition to a more evidence-based and inclusive policy development process.

The review comes as Policy LINK kicks off a new buy-in in Ghana, where the global program aims to support the transition to a more evidence-based and inclusive policy development process. This desk review will also provide a starting point and insights that will guide the buy-in's six-month refine phase and, through it, its implementation activities.

The purpose of the Feed the Future (FtF) Ghana Policy LINK Activity is “to foster behavior change that strengthens the capacity and ability of Ghanaian stakeholders to participate in a more transparent, inclusive, and evidence-based agriculture and food security policy that leads to improved food and nutrition outcomes and broad-based economic growth.” The $2.5 million buy-in, which was finalized in November 2021, complements Mission partnerships in Bangladesh, East Africa, Ethiopia, and South Sudan.
