Leading for Change | Ethiopia
Based on proven approaches that USAID's Policy LINK program and its predecessor projects have developed to strengthen leadership effectiveness globally, this series builds the capacity of food systems leaders to act as change agents in policy processes.

Why Leading for Change?
A Policy LINK survey of food system actors in Ethiopia found that the majority of respondents did not participate in policymaking and were not aware of policies related to their work.
Almost all pointed out that the absence of systems and structures is the main reason for their lack of participation in policymaking.
At the same time, the majority of respondents felt that they were not competent enough to contribute to or influence policymaking.
Their highest priority was to develop their leadership capacity to advocate for and influence participatory policymaking.
In response to the findings, C4FS designed leadership development training to strengthen policy actors' abilities in mindset, emotional intelligence-based leadership, collaboration, and policy-influencing skills.
